TAIPEI, TAIWAN, October 4, 2024 – Germany’s Niko Koop added a prestigious title to his already impressive resume by capturing his first APT victory in Event #79: Baby Superstar Challenge. Koop, with over USD 4 million in live earnings, successfully navigated a competitive field of 92 entries (66 unique), including several high-rollers and high-stakes players, to secure the top prize of TWD 3,131,200 (~USD 95,694).

Koop went up against Thailand’s Thanat Sukchot in a tense head’s up battle. Sukchot unfortunately takes second place, taking home TWD 2,194,000 (~USD 67,086), while Vietnam’s Hai Nam Hoang claimed third place with TWD 1,449,000 (~USD 44,316).

South Korean Pair Rises Above in Event #68: NL Hold'em - Teams Event

Seong Uk Huh and Dongmin Jang from South Korea worked together to take down Event #68: NL Hold'em - Teams Event. The pair beat out 142 entrants (71 teams) in an interesting format where every pair swaps players after every level is played. If one of the pair gets eliminated, the other plays for the rest of the tournament until they too are eliminated.

The Huh-Jang pair earned for themselves TWD 141,300 (~USD 4,475) each for winning the event. Hong Kong pair Wan Hung and Ka Shun Tsang came in second, claiming TWD 102,000 (~USD 3,230) each, while one of the only pairs from different countries, Yusuke Nagai (Japan) and Yuan Lei (China) pockets TWD 66,000 (~USD 2,090) each.

A “winning team” bonus (20% of prize pool) was paid to the last surviving team that had both members alive in the field, and that went to Japanese pair Kensuke Tajika and Shoichiro Tamaki, who each claims a cool TWD 121,325 (~USD 3,840) each. Eugene Lim Claims Second Title in Event #71: NL Hold'em / PL Omaha

Singapore’s Eugene Lim secured his second title of the series by winning Event #71: NL Hold'em / PL Omaha. Lim, who previously triumphed in Event #50: Atomic Pineapple - Hyper Turbo, added another impressive victory to his resume, conquering a field of 132 entries (106 unique) to take home TWD 429,720 (~USD 13,127).

Fellow Singaporean Sean Tan claimed the runner-up position, earning TWD 291,000 (~USD 8,890), while Thailand’s Rungrot Nuannoi finished in third place, pocketing TWD 189,000 (~USD 5,775).

China’s Chuning Tan has continued his extraordinary run, capturing his third APT title of the series in Event #78: 7 Card Stud Masters. Tan outlasted a field of 33 entries (32 unique) to take the top prize of TWD 369,920 (~USD 11,300), further cementing his dominance throughout the series.

Tan’s victory came after a heads-up battle against Japan’s Inoue Naomi, who yesterday claimed victory in Event #70: Razzdugi, finished in second place, earning TWD 254,000 (~USD 7,760). Fellow Japanese player Daisuke Ogita rounded out the top three, taking home TWD 162,000 (~USD 4,950).

Singapore’s Ravn Teo emerged victorious in Event #81: Turbo, outlasting a field of 83 entries (70 unique) to claim the top prize of TWD 194,152 (~USD 5,930). Teo, who previously binked Event #22: Sunday Super Stack navigated through a tough final table, securing the win after defeating Taiwan’s Huai Chu Wu, who finished second with TWD 139,000 (~USD 4,243). Ronald Haverkamp from the Netherlands finished in third place, taking home TWD 91,000 (~USD 2,840).

Horace Leung of Hong Kong made another deep run, adding another final table appearance to his impressive series. Leung, who won Event #66: NL Hold'em Heads Up, finished in sixth place for TWD 43,000 (~USD 1,313).

Hong Kong’s Gordon Tam finally secured his long-awaited victory in Event #82: PL Omaha High after making two final table appearances prior to this event in this series. Tam outlasted a field of 112 entries (62 unique) to claim the title and TWD 88,765 (~USD 2,711), marking a well-deserved win for the consistent performer.

Tam faced a close challenge from Taiwan’s Ming Chang Hsiao, who finished second with TWD 86,466 (~USD 2,641), while the United States' Michael Wookju Chung took third, earning TWD 80,481 (~USD 2,459).

Yaginuma faced off against Hong Kong’s Siu Ki Leung in heads-up play, with Leung finishing as the runner-up and taking home TWD 150,000 (~USD 4,580). Hong Kong's Wai Hung Kelvin Ma rounded out the top three, securing TWD 96,000 (~USD 2,930).

Hong Kong’s Tsz Man Li emerged victorious in Event #85: Hyper Turbo - 3/2/1 Single Winner, securing her first APT title after an exciting and intense final table. Li triumphed over a competitive field of 64 entries (57 unique), claiming the top prize of TWD 111,470 (~USD 3,405).

Japan’s Tetsuya Tsujisaka fought valiantly but finished as the runner-up, earning TWD 79,000 (~USD 2,414), while Thailand’s Nutrasar Tanakitnhopawat rounded out the top three, taking home TWD 52,000 (~USD 1,587).
