Taiwan's Ming Chang Hsiao Claims Maiden APT Title in Event #32: PL Omaha Hi-Lo Mix 7 Max

The seventh of the series Omaha tournaments – the TWD 20,000 Event #32: PL Omaha Hi-Lo Mix - 4 Card, 5 Card, 6 Card - 7 Max – saw 27 entries (16 unique) assemble, generating a TWD 233,091 (~USD 7,380) prize pool.

The action played out over twenty-two 25-minute levels as players jockeyed for the tournament top spot.

Taiwan's Ming Chang Hsiao proved his pot limit skills, defeating Japan's Daiki Aoki heads-up to claim his maiden APT title and the **TWD 98,090 (~USD 3,105) top prize.

Aoki took TWD 65,000 (~USD 2,060) for his runner-up finish, with Australia’s Jarryd Godena making a fourth series final table appearance and collecting TWD 42,000 (~USD 1,330) for third place.

Japan's Koichi Tamura was the only other player to cash, taking TWD 28,000 (~USD 885) for fourth place.

Yu Tang Wang Claims Maiden APT Title in Event #34: Limit Triple Draw 2-7

The third of the series’ Triple Draw tournaments – the TWD 8,000 Event 34 Limit Triple Draw 2-7 attracted a 22-strong field (20 unique), all looking to bag a baby lion side event trophy and claim their share of the TWD 150,234 (~USD 4,760) top prize.

It was Taiwan’s Yu Tang Wu who showed his artistic side, drawing his way to victory after cutting an ICM deal with heads-up opponent and compatriot Philip Wang, with the duo then playing it out for the trophy, title, and 10 percent of the total remaining prize pool.

Wu pipped Wang to the posts, claiming a TWD 53,667 (~USD 1,700) top prize and maiden APT title, denying the latter a second series title in the process. Wang took TWD 51,567 (~USD 1,630) for second place, with yet another Taiwanese player completing the winner’s podium, with Li Ta “Leon” Hsu taking TWD 27,000 (~USD 855) for third place. Japan’s Yuki Sako was the only other player to cash, collecting TWD 18,000 (~USD 570) for fourth place.

Japan's Yuji Watanabe Joins Double Series Title Club with Victory in Event #35: Turbo - NL Omaha High - Double Board - 2 Winners

The second of the festival's double title winners has emerged, with Japan's Yuji Watanabe following up his maiden APT title win in Event #2 with another Omaha victory, this time in the TWD 6,000 Event #35: Turbo - NL Omaha High - Double Board - 2 Winners.

Watanabe defeated a 23-strong field (21 unique) to double his APT title count, besting Taiwan’s Yi-Lung Tsai heads-up to earn a TWD 48,458 (~USD 1,535) top prize, with Tsai taking TWD 33,000 (~USD 1,045) for his runner-up finish.

The Netherland’s Tony Khoang claimed bronze and a payout of TWD 21,000 (~USD 665), with Taiwan’s Hung Hsiang Wu the only other player to make the money, banking TWD 14,000 (~USD 440) for fourth place.

Singapore’s Bao Qiang Ho Scores Second Series High Roller Title in Event #36: Hyper Turbo - High Roller

Double title winners are like buses, there isn’t one for ages and then three come along at once. That is certainly the case here in Taipei, with Singapore’s Bao Qiang Ho becoming the third player to score double series wins.

What makes Ho’s extra special is the fact he followed up Friday’s Event #28 Hyper Turbo High Roller victory with back-to-back Hyper Turbo High Roller wins, defeating a 46-strong (38 unique) field to claim gold in the TWD 25,000 Event #36: Hyper Turbo - High Roller, earning the lion’s share of the TWD 1,003,950 (~USD 31,790) prize pool, a fifth APT title, and a third career High Roller title.

Ho defeated China’s Chen Jung Liu heads-up to claim a TWD 341,950 (~USD 10,830) top prize, with Liu locking up TWD 236,000 (~USD 7,470) for second place.

Taiwan’s Pin Hung Liao completed the top triumvirate, taking TWD 151,000 (~USD 4,780) for third. A total of six players made the money, with the tournament paying out as follows:

The second of the day’s draw poker tournaments ¬– the TWD 5,000 Event #37: Hyper Turbo - NL Single Draw 2-7 saw 49 entries (43 unique) in action, all looking to earn their slice of the TWD 206,755 (~USD 6,550) prize pool.

It was Hong Kong’s Lok Ming Chan who earned the largest piece of the pie, defeating double series title winner Mark Furniss heads-up to deny the Aussie a third series title, scoring his seventh career APT title in the process.

Chan, who also holds a Mixed Big Bet bracelet, earned a TWD 64,755 (~USD 2,050) top prize for his win, with Furniss taking TWD 47,000 (~USD 1,490) for his runner-up finish. China’s Tsz To Wan rounded out the podium, taking TWD 30,000 (~USD 950) for third place.

Trophy Time for the Philippines' Christopher Mateo in Event #38: Tick Tock BOOM!

The TWD 8,000 Event #38: Tick Tock BOOM! (Levels Decrease Every Hour 15/10/5/2) was the largest of the late night Tick Tock tournaments to play out so far, drawing a 112-strong (91 unique) field and generating a TWD 764,825 (~USD 24,220) prize pool.

It was former APT Manila Main Event champion Christopher Mateo whose time had come again, with the Filipino defeating Macau’s Tsz Ki Lo heads-up to claim an impressive sixth APT title and the TWD 193,825 (~USD 6,140) top prize.

Lo locked up TWD 135,000 (~USD 4,275) for second place, with Hong Kong’s Ellen Cheung collecting TWD 88,000 (~USD 2,785) for third. A total of fifteen players made the money, with the tournament paying out as follows:
