Japan’s Aoki Yuki Flourishes in Event #68: Turbo - NL - 8 Game (Limit R-O-S-E, +Single Draw Badugi, A-5, 2-7, & Omaha High)

The TWD 6,000 Event #68: Turbo - NL - 8 Game (Limit R-O-S-E, +Single Draw Badugi, A-5, 2-7, & Omaha High) drew a 36-strong field (22 unique), generating a TWD 182,282 (~USD 5,775) prize pool.

The action played out over twenty-one 15-minute levels with Japan’s Aoki Yuki proving his mixed game prowess, defeating Hong Kong’s Ka Chun Yuan to claim the TWD 68,282 (~USD 2,160) top prize, earning his maiden APT title in the process.

Yuan took TWD 46,000 (~USD 1,460) for his runner-up finish, with Switzerland’s Yannick Jobin rounding out the podium, taking TWD 30,000 (~USD 950) for third place.

Japan’s Atsushi Takeuchi Claims Maiden Tournament Title in Event #69: Hyper Turbo - Double Stack

Outside of the Main Event, the TWD 7,000 Hyper Turbo – Double Stack was the second most popular event of the day, drawing 191 entries (171 unique).

Players duked it out over twenty-seven fast-paced 10-minute levels all looking to earn a share of the TWD 1,141,263 (36,255) prize pool, with Japan’s Atsushi Takeuchi the man to claim the lion’s share.

Takeuchi defeated Taiwan’s Jia Cheng Luo heads-up to bank a TWD 251,263 (~USD 7,955) top prize, earning his maiden live tournament title in the process. Luo locked up TWD 171,000 (~USD 5,410) for his runner-up finish, with Hong Kong’s Yik Long Wong rounding out the winner’s podium and taking TWD 117,000 (~USD 3,700) for third place.

Other notables to cash but come up short of a place in the final nine included the Philippines’ Richard “Hot Sauce” Marquez (10th for TWD 22,000), Belgium’s Kristof Segers (13th for TWD 19,000), and the Philippines’ Jose Colada (24th for TWS 11,000).

Hong Kong’s Edward Yam Scores Second Series High Roller Title in Event #70: Hyper Turbo - High Roller

Hong Kong’s Edward Yam has been enjoying a stellar series so far. In addition to making a deep run in the APT Super High Roller where he finished third for a career-best score, Yam has gone from zero APT titles to claiming two this festival, both of which have come in high-roller events.

The Hong Kong high-roller earned the newest edition to his trophy cabinet in the TWD 25,000 Event #70 Hyper Turbo High Roller, defeating a field of 35 entries (30 unique) to claim the largest slice of the TWD 763,875 (~USD 24,200) prize pool.

Yam bested South Korea’s Seungmook Jung heads-up to bag a TWD 281,875 (~USD 8,930) top prize, with Jung taking TWD 195,000 (~USD 6,175) for his runner-up finish.

Taiwan’s Wi-Yu Chuang claimed bronze and a payout of TWD 124,000 (~USD 3,930) for third place, with Hong Kong’s Hon Cheong “Ivan” Lee coming in fourth for a TWD 90,000 (~USD 2,850) payday, and Malaysia’s Tuck Wai Foo filling out the last of the paying positions, earning TWD 73,000 (~USD 2,220) for fifth place.

The TWD 6,000 Event #71: Hyper Turbo - NL R-O-S-E (Razz, Omaha Hi-Lo, Stud, Stud Hi-Lo) saw 25 entries (19 unique) clash over seventeen speedy 10-minute levels, all looking to score a piece of the TWD 126,585 (~USD 4,010) prize pool.

It was South Korea’s Jeong Yeol Yu who claimed the accolades, defeating compatriot Wooram Cho heads-up to take the TWD 53,585 (~USD 1,700) top prize, earning his third APT title in the process.

Cho received a TWD 35,000 (~USD 1,100) for his runner-up finish, with Taiwan’s Chien-Hsiang Hung and Canada’s David Spencer the only two other players to make the money, finishing in third and fourth respectively with the tournament paying out as follows:

Taiwan’s Clayton Jacobs Claims Explosive Win in Event #72: Super Hyper Turbo - Bomb Pot

An interesting take on No Limit Hold’em, Bomb Pot tournaments see each player at the table commit one big blind to the pot pre-flop, with the first round of betting taking place on the flop. This can cause some explosive results, but all the incendiary action worked out well for Taiwan’s Clayton Jacobs, who defeated a 78-strong (73 unique) field to claim the biggest piece of the TWD 329,121 (~USD 10,425) prize pool.

Jacobs defeated Hong Kong’s Ka Chuen Yip heads-up to claim a TWD 92,121 (~USD 2,920) top prize and his maiden live tournament title, with Yip taking TWD 64,000 (~USD 2,030) for his runner-up finish.

Taiwan’s Yu An Wang completed the tournament top three, banking TWD 42,000 (~USD 1,330) for third place. A total of 11 players made the money, with the tournament paying out as follows:
