MANILA, PHILIPPINES, October 30, 2024 — The APT Manila 2024 festival continues to set records, with the PHP 20,000 Event #10: Mystery Bounty Hunter - Sponsored by Natural8 - PHP 6,000,000 GTD drawing the tour’s largest-ever Philippines-based mystery bounty field.

Just 68 players out of the initial 480 entries (314 unique) returned for the second and final day already guaranteed a PHP 21,000 (~USD 360) share of the PHP 5,407,680 (~USD 91,930) prize pool – the richest APT mystery bounty prize pool ever generated in the country.

With a PHP 1,046,680 (~USD 17,790) top prize on the line, in addition to a further PHP 2,880,000 (~USD 48,960) in the bounty pool and a top bounty worth PHP 500,000 (~USD 8,500) up for grabs there was all to play for.

It took close to fifteen 30-minute levels for Youngje Anh to solve the mystery of who would walk away with the lion’s share of the prize pool. The South Korean player bested the Philippines' Edilberto Gopez in an epic back-and-forth heads-up battle that saw Anh overcome a 5-to-1 chip deficit to clinch his maiden live tournament title and the largest score of his poker career. Anh collected five scalps on his way to victory, earning a further PHP 50,000 with which to celebrate with.

Gopez, who boasts over USD 300,000 in live tournament winnings, will be understandably disappointed to have been unable to convert his chip lead into a win, and was forced to settle for the PHP 665,000 (~USD 11,305) on offer for second place.

However, the Filipino did collect the most scalps, busting eight players on his deep run to claim a further PHP 150,000 from the bounty pool, which should take the edge off somewhat.

Start-of-day chip leader Georgios Skarparis came within touching distance of the trophy before falling in third place after Anh turned a straight to end the Cypriot’s dreams of a maiden APT title. Skarparis banked PHP 476,000 (~USD 8,090) for his bronze podium finish and collected seven scalps for a further PHP 150,000 in winnings.

Germany’s Daniel Smiljkovic also made a final table appearance, falling in fourth place to Gopez and earning PHP 375,000 (~USD 6,375) for his efforts as well as collecting a further PHP 240,000 in bounties after railing four opponents.

It was fifth place finisher Magnus Martin who bagged the biggest bounty in addition to two others, with the Brit earning PHP 295,000 (~USD 5,015) for his final table showing, plus a further PHP 570,000 in bounties.

Flight A frontrunner Slaven Popov also ran deep, finishing in sixth place for PHP 173,000 (~USD 2,940) and collecting a further PHP 180,000 after scalping three opponents, with the final table paying out as follows:

Canada’s Philipp Zukernik Claims Maiden APT Title & PHP 1.43M (USD 24K) Top Prize in Super Stack

Event #20_ Super Stack champion Philipp Zukernik3.jpg Canada’s Philipp Zukernik claimed his maiden APT title in the Super Stack

The PHP 30,000 Event#20: Super Stack - PHP 6,000,000 GTD proved to be the day’s biggest draw, attracting 258 entries (210 unique) who duked it out over ten 25-minute levels and a further twenty four 20-minute levels for a share of the PHP 6,757,020 (~USD 114,870) prize pool.

It was Canada’s Philipp Zukernik the man to claim the accolades, defeating Philippines’ National Cup winner Marco Espela heads-up to deny the Filipino his second series title in as many days.

This win represents Zukernik’s sixth live tournament title, and the Canadian is closing in on USD 1M in live tournament winnings and looked pleased as punch to clinch the coveted silver lion silhouette trophy.

In addition to snagging the PHP 1,432,020 (~USD 24,345) top prize Zukernik claimed his maiden APT title, leaving Espela to settle for the PHP 962,000 (~USD 16,355) on offer for second. Still, being as that brings the Filipino cash grinder’s total haul up to over PHP 2.13 million in two days, it’s doubtful Espela will be too disappointed.

The Philippines’ Alfredo Boligor rounded out the winner’s podium, taking PHP 678,000 (~USD 11,525) for his third place finish, with the final table paying out as follows:
