TAIPEI, TAIWAN, October 2, 2024 – The Asian Poker Tour has once again broken its own record as the biggest and richest event in Taiwanese history as the TWD 50,000 APT Main Event officially draws 1,991 entries!
That means for the fourth festival in a row the APT has set a new record for biggest ever for a country, with 295 players making the paying positions and earning a share of the TWD 86,011,200 (~USD 2.7M) prize pool, with the eventual champion claiming a top prize of TWD 14,413,200 (~USD 453,960)!
It is Singapore's Andrew Ong who will be returning in pole position after driving a great deal of the Flight 2 B/D action and topping the counts of the second of the two Day 2 Flights, bagging up 582,000 in chips after the tournament clock ticked into the red at the conclusion of the five 60-minute levels played.
Ong is joined at the summit by South Korea's Manwoo Park, who bagged the second largest Day 2 B/D stack of 580,000. Australia's Dylan Foster will be returning with the third largest stack after topping the chip counts of the first of the Day 2 flights played, displaying his poker prowess and bagging up 575,000 on Day 2 A/C, with the top ten stacks coming into Day 3 as follows:

Australia’s Dylan Foster topped Day 2 A/C of the APT Main Event
The initial action kicked off at 11am local time for Day 2 A/C, which saw a total of 349 stacks brought forward from Flights A & C; players who qualified twice had their shortest stack removed from play.
A total of 164 players made the Day 3 cut and found a chip bag at the end of the evening, and in addition to Foster, the top dogs from Day 2 A/C included Macau's Sio Fat Lau (562,000), and Taiwan's Cheng Yen Lo (554,000).
Singapore's Dhanesh Chainani (513,000) also bagged a top ten Day 2 A/C stack, as did Germany's Konstantin Held (507,000), and the USA's Robert Nemeskeri-Kiss (506,000).
Other notables who successfully circumnavigated the Day 2 A/C minefield to return for Day 3 include APT Summer Series Da Nang Main Event champion Shixiang Khoo (419,000), Flight C frontrunner Jacob Ikuma (373,500), two-time APT Main Event champion Lester Edoc (358,000), Australia's Daniel Neilson (266,000), former Star Craft professional Yohwan “BoxeR” Lim (224,500), and former APT and Triton commentator Henry Kilbane (83,000).
Day 2 B/C saw the 310 combined survivors from opening Flights B & D united for the first time, with 137 of them successful in their quest to make Day 3.
In addition to Ong and Park, other notables to return with playable stacks will include Vietnam's Ngoc Anh Cao (405,500), Mystery Bounty champion Isaac Phua (236,000), Thai TV host and former Main Event finalist Napat Chokejindachai (213,000), the USA's Joseph Cheong (199,000), and Bulgaria's Slaven Popov (170,500).
Hong Kong's Sparrow Cheung (137,000) also made the cut, as did APT Taipei 2023 APT Super High Roller champion Sam Lam (98,500), and Natural8 India Ambassador Kunal Patni (84,500).
A total of 301 players will be returning for Day 3—this includes the 56 Natural8 Onlive players who won their way through to Day 3 online who will join the action once the money bubble has burst.
