MANILA, PHILIPPINES, April 11, 2024 – The Asian Poker Tour sponsored by Natural8 is pleased to announce a brand new festival, the APT Taipei Poker Classic scheduled for the end of Q3, 2024.
Running from September 27 to October 7 in partnership with the Chinese Texas Hold'em Poker Club (CTP) the festival will follow the same format at the APT Taipei 2024, which proved to be the largest and richest poker series ever to play out in Taiwan.
The festival takes place across two venues; the CTP Asia Poker Arena – Asia's largest permanent poker room – and the CML (Chinese Mahjong League 華人麻將競技聯盟) both located in central Taipei.
Named "Classic" in reference to the first of the record-breaking new era festivals – the APT Taipei 2023 – which came with a Main Event buy-in of TWD 50,000 and a TWD 30 million guarantee, the tour's flagship event sports the same great buy-in price but boasts over double the guarantee.
The festival boasts over TWD 150 million (~USD 4.6 million) in guaranteed prize money – with the jewel in the series' crown—the APT Main Event—coming with a hefty TWD 65 billion (~ USD 2 million) prize pool guarantee!
SERIES HIGHLIGHTS
The 11-day festival kicks off with the two-day TWD 10 million (~USD 311,000) guaranteed APT National Cup which gets underway on Friday, September 27.
The action-packed opening weekend also features the TWD 10 million guaranteed Mystery Bounty Hunter – Sponsored by Natural8, running September 28-29, the TWD 4 million (~USD 124,700) guaranteed Sunday Super Stack, running September 29, and the TWD 11 million (~USD 343,000) guaranteed APT Super High Roller – which will award the first of the festival's coveted signature lion trophies.
There are also daily high-roller tournaments, including the TWD 800,000 (~USD 25,000) buy-in Superstar Challenge, the TWD 200,000 (~USD 6,235) buy-in Baby Superstar, and the TWD 120,000 (~USD 3,740) buy-in APT High Roller which comes with a TWD 11 million guarantee.
Of course, the highlight of the festival will be the TWD 50,000 (~USD 1,560) buy-in APT Main Event and its TWD 65 million (~USD 2 million) prize pool guarantee.
Other featured events include the TWD 20 million (~USD 623,600) guaranteed Zodiac Classic – Sponsored by Natural8, running October 3-4, and the TWD 7 million (~USD 218,000) guaranteed Double Stack, running October 4-5.
Then there is the added value of the TWD 6 million (~USD 187,000) guaranteed Mini Main Event, running October 5-6, and the TWD 3 million (~USD 93,500) guaranteed Micro Main Event, running October 6-7, with the festival concluding with the TWD 1 million (~USD 31,000) guaranteed The Closer on Monday, October 7.
As in March, the majority of the Hight Roller events and non-NLH events will take place at CML with the marquee No Limit Hold'em events playing out at APA.
In addition to the marquee events, the series will offer an eclectic spread of pot-limit Omaha and No Limit Hold’em variations, mixed games, and daily scheduled High Roller events.
