HANOI, VIETNAM, February 5, 2023 – The APT Hanoi Vietnam VSOP 2023 – partnered with the Vietnam Series of Poker (VSOP) and sponsored by Natural8 – has the second of its marquee event champions, with the Philippines' Mike Takayama going wire-to-wire to win the inaugural Superstar Invitational.
Takayama is no stranger to success at the tournament tables, with this victory granting the Filipino professional his 16th APT title. This impressive list of APT accolades include two main event titles and six high roller titles, and his career tournament winnings now sit at over $2.48 million.
Just eight of the initial 46-strong field returned to action for the second and final day. Takayama came in with a chip lead he would not relinquish to claim the ₫1,457,080,000 (~$62,654) top prize after all eight finalists opted for a bubble saver deal, meaning seven of them made the money.
That left Vietnam's Duc Anh Nguyen the only remaining finalist to depart empty-handed, but he would not get lonely on the rail.
Takayama was an unstoppable force at the final table, gunning down six out of his seven remaining opponents in quick succession to give Nguyen some company, with the tournament wrapped up after four 40-minute levels.
While Takayama's heads-up opponent – Vietnam's Julien Tran – put up a valiant effort, the Filipino players' mountainous 3-to-1 chip lead proved too steep of an obstacle to surmount.
Tran took home ₫998,570,000 ($42,938) for his runner-up finish, with seven players in total cashing for a share of the **₫4,462,000,000 ($191,866) prize pool**, with the final table paying out as follows:

Dinh Duc Linh Crowned Mystery Bounty Hunter Champion
Vietnam's Dinh Duc Linh proved his bounty hunting credentials to claim his maiden APT title
The ₫9,000,000+900,000 Event #5 Mystery Bounty Hunter – Sponsored by Natural8 has a champion, with Vietnam's Dinh Duc Linh crowned the king of the mystery bounty hunters.
Linh made his maiden APT title win a memorable one, defeating a 419-strong (231 unique) field to take the lion's share of the ₫3,657,845,000 (~$157,287) total prize pool – which includes ₫1,257,000,000 in bounties.
Linh bested fellow countryman Van Phu Nguyento take the ₫473,750,000 (~$20,371) top prize, claiming three bounties in the process – including the top scalp worth ₫293,900,000 ($12,637) – to bring his total haul for the tournament up to ₫811,050,000 ($34,593).
Nguyen collected ₫299,350,000 for his runner-up finish, plus a further ₫62,600,000 in bounties to bring his total windfall up to ₫361,950,000 (~$15,563).

China's Yucheng Xiao Wins First-Ever Sunday Special
China's Yucheng Xiao claimed his maiden APT title in the inaugural Sunday Special
The ₫6,000,000+600,000 Event #9: Sunday Special is another new event making its APT debut this series, and proved to be a popular draw, attracting 285 entries (193 unique).
This generated a ₫1,658,700,000 (~$71,324) prize pool, easily beating the ₫500 million guarantee.
It was Yucheng Xiao the man to emerge on top, beating Russia's German Bukharov heads-up to take the ₫332,510,000 (~$14,298) top prize and earn the prestige of becoming the inaugural Sunday Special champion. Xiao also claimed his maiden live title and APT title in the process.
Bukharov, following up his sixth place finish in the Kickoff, collected ₫221,100,000 (~$9,507) for his runner-up finish, with the official eight-handed final table paying out as follows:

A total of 40 players made the money – a double bustout on the bubble seeing Thailand's Chaikwang Thitirat and Vietnam's Doan Quang Trung chop a min-cash between them.
South Korea's Seunghyun Lee narrowly missed out on making the official final table, banking ₫34,670,000 for ninth place.

Three more freshly minted APT champions have emerged; The first of these is Vietnam's The Vinh Nguyen, who was victorious in the ₫18,000,000+1,800,000 Event #12 Hyper Turbo – 8 Max.
Nguyen triumphed over a 24-strong field (22 unique) to claim the ₫176,000,000 (~$7,568) top prize, besting Japan's Ken Ogawa heads-up to win his maiden APT title in the process.
Okada took ₫117,330,000 (~$5,045) for his runner-up finish, with Phan Minh Duc following up his win in the Kickoff with a second final table appearance in as many days to claim fourth place.

Kamuz defeated Singapore's Denlison Ng Giap Leng heads-up to take down his first APT title, with Leng receiving ₫38,300,000 (~$1,646) for his runner-up finish.

Nguyen bested a 46-strong field to take the ₫60,690,000 (~$2,609) top prize, defeating South Korea's Hyegeon Park heads-up.
