TAIPEI, TAIWAN, September 28, 2024 – Japan’s Sachiko Uchihara caps off a string of good results for the year by taking home her career title win in Event #4: Women’s Event at APT Taipei Poker Classic 2024. Uchihara beat out an impressive 129 entries (102 unique) taking part in the first of three women’s events set to run in this series.
For her efforts, Uchihara takes home TWD 49,744 (~USD 1,574) in prize money and a trophy. Local Tzu-Han Chen was Uchihara’s head’s up opponent, and she took home TWD 33,700 (~USD 1,066). Fellow local Jhen Ke Yi rounds out the top three, taking home TWD 21,900 (~USD 693) in prize money.

Chuning Tan Beats Record Field to Claim Maiden Title in Event #11: PL Omaha Hi-Lo - 5 Card (Big O)
Chuning Tan takes lays claim to his first APT mixed games trophy.
Chuning Tan, a mixed game regular from China claims his first APT title in Event #11: PL Omaha Hi-Lo - 5 Card (Big O). Tan managed to come out on top in a record field for the format, which drew 85 entrants (62 unique).
Tan defeated local Yu Sheng Lin heads-up to take home TWD 199,240 (~USD 6,307) and his first APT trophy. Lin fell short for the second time is as many days after going heads-up in Event #7: Turbo - PL Omaha Hi-Lo - 5 Card (Big O). However, the sizable second-place purse of TWD 142,000 (~USD 4,495) should take the edge off.
Hong Kong’s Alan Wong rounds off the podium, taking home TWD 93,000 (~USD 2,943). In addition, Tony Khoang from the Netherlands and Fu Bang Huang from Taiwan both add another final table appearance to their name, going two for two in mixed games. The payouts for the final table are as follows:

Joseph Wilkinson freezes out the competition.
The United Kingdom’s Joseph Wilkinson prevailed in a tough field in Event #13: NL Hold'em – Freezeout. Outlasting a field of 66 entries, Wilkinson took home an eye-watering TWD 498,720 (~USD 15,787), his highest cash to date and his first APT trophy.
Wilkinson beat out Hong Kong’s Fong Chi Andrei Chan heads-up, who takes home TWD 359,000 (~USD 11,364) for second place. Circuit regular and local Chih Feng Li makes up the top three, pocketing TWD 234,000 (~USD 7,407) for his third-place finish.
Joris Michl from the Netherlands, a circuit regular was a notable member of the final table, eventually finishing fifth for a cash of TWD 137,000 (~USD 4,336). The final table payouts were as follows:

Record Broken Again for Triple Draw as Higuma Claims Victory in Event #14: Limit Triple Draw Lowball Mix
Higuma claims Japan’s first mixed games trophy of the series.
Yesterday’s field record for Triple Draw events was broken again today as Japan’s Kazumasa Higuma claims Japan’s first mixed game trophy in Event #14: Limit Triple Draw Lowball Mix. Higuma outlasted a field of 85 entrants (80 unique) and laid claim to TWD 137,656 (~USD 4,357) in prize money and his first APT title.
Higuma was one of six Japanese players in the final table and went up against fellow compatriot Tempei Kotani heads-up, who also made yesterday’s final table in Event #5: Limit Triple Draw 2-7 and pockets TWD 98,000 (~USD 3,102). Ryoya Miyazawa, another fellow countryman came third and won TWD 64,000 (~USD 2,025) in prize money.

Moon Takes His Place Amongst APT Stars in Event #15: Turbo - PL Omaha
Malaysian amateur Jack Lai Moon takes his place amongst APT stars.
Malaysian amateur Jack Lai Moon may have found his calling in PL Omaha as he claimed gold in Event #15: Turbo - PL Omaha. Only his third cash to date, Moon pocketed a cool TWD 118,038 (~USD 3,736) and an APT trophy for his efforts.
Outlasting a field of 69 entries (55 unique), Moon’s heads-up opponent was Clement Chau from Hong Kong. For finishing second, Chau takes home TWD 86,000 (~USD 2,722). Finishing in third place was local Yi-Lung Tsai, who makes his second final table appearance in as many days.
Japan’s Keita Kitamura, a circuit regular adds his first final table appearance for the series, eventually finishing in seventh for TWD 20,000 (~USD 633). The final table paid out as below:

Chang in Seventh Heaven Winning Event #16: Hyper Turbo - High Roller
Chang adds a seventh APT trophy to his name.
Local boy Yu Chung Chang emerged victorious in Event #16: Hyper Turbo - High Roller, beating out a 48-strong field (42 unique) of high-stakes players. Chang adds a seventh trophy to his impressive cabinet of APT titles, winning TWD 260,440 (~USD 8,244) in the process.
It was a one versus four affair at one point in the final table as Chang went up against four members of the Japanese contingent, eventually defeating Yosuke Kuroda heads-up. Kuroda pockets TWD 189,000 (~USD 5,982) for his efforts, while compatriot Jun Obara wins TWD 120,000 (~USD 3,798) for this third place finish.

The final table was a Japanese majority affair again as we see continued interest from the nation in mixed games. Yim Chiu Ting from Hong Kong was Yu’s opponent heads-up and claims TWD 53,000 (~USD 1,677) for his efforts. Japanese player Daiki Nishi meanwhile took home TWD 34,000 (~USD 1,076) in third place.

Local Amateur Peng Makes Run of His Life in Event #18: Tick Tock BOOM! - Super Hold'em
Peng makes a career-high score and his first APT trophy.
Local amateur Fu-Hsin Peng beat 64 other entrants (58 unique) to win a career high prize of TWD 158,816 (~USD 5,027) and his first APT trophy. With lifetime earnings of USD 102 to his name prior to the event, Peng edged out the field in a format with decreasing durations of blind levels that gave way to a tournament run to remember for Peng.
Shun Yan Tse from Hong Kong was Peng’s heads-up opponent, and he takes home TWD 115,000 (~USD 3,640), also his career-high score. Saransh Garg from India came in third place and adds TWD 75,000 (~USD 2,374) to his bankroll.
