Pun outlasted a 73-entrant (54 unique) field in the two-day high roller event to secure his first APT title, taking home TWD 1,306,580 (~USD 40,781) in prize money.
Pun faced fierce competition from fellow Hong Kong player Donavan Chu, who finished in second place, earning TWD 1,223,180 (~USD 38,178). Ireland’s Mark Gruendeman rounded out the top three, claiming TWD 689,000 (~USD 21,505).
Notable members of the final table include Japan’s Kazuhiko Yotsushika, who entered Day 2 as the overwhelming chip leader but ultimately finished 6th, taking home TWD 313,000 (~USD 9,769). Malaysia’s Natalie Teh, who had an impressive run on Day 1, finished 8th, earning TWD 192,000 (~USD 5,992).

Ireland’s Ryan Plant stood firm and emerged victorious in Event #58: NL Hold'em – Freezeout. Plant outlasted a competitive field of 272 entries to claim his first APT title, walking away with an impressive TWD 1,173,200 (~USD 37,114) in prize money.

Seong Jin Han Wins Event #60: Turbo After ICM Deal
Han was the middle stack prior to the ICM deal.
South Korea’s Seong Jin Han took down Event #60: Turbo at the APT Taipei Poker Classic 2024 for his first APT title after an ICM deal was agreed among the top three players. The event attracted 214 entries (171 unique).
Han, alongside Hong Kong’s King Chun Horace Leung and Taiwan’s Yang Hsin Shih, agreed to an ICM deal, securing their shares of the prize pool and deciding to play for an additional TWD 42,660 and the coveted APT trophy. Han ultimately emerged victorious, taking home TWD 449,930 (~USD 14,220) and his first APT title. Leung finished as the runner-up, earning TWD 422,090 (~USD 13,340), while Shih settled for third place, pocketing TWD 388,420 (~USD 12,280).

Horace Leung Secures First APT Title in Event #66: NL Hold'em Heads Up
Leung beat four players head’s up to win his first APT title.
Hong Kong’s Horace Leung claimed his first-ever APT title in Event #66: NL Hold'em Heads Up (32 Cap) at the APT Taipei Poker Classic 2024. Leung, who previously reached the final table in Event #60: Turbo, fought his way through a field of 32 entrants in this heads-up format. His victory earned him a prize of TWD 159,424 (~USD 5,040) along with the prestigious APT trophy.
Leung bested Japan’s Riko Watanabe in the final heads-up duel. Watanabe took home TWD 100,000 (~USD 3,160) for his second-place finish. Fellow Japanese player Tetsuya Ogura secured third place, earning TWD 60,000 (~USD 1,900), while China’s Yunfan Yang rounded out the top four, pocketing TWD 40,000 (~USD 1,265).

The United States' Patrick Quealy emerged victorious in Event #67: Mix Game Masters - 9 Game, securing his first APT title in a mixed game. Quealy bested a field of 59 entrants (51 unique) to claim the top prize of TWD 534,160 (~USD 16,655).
Quealy faced a strong challenge from Australia’s Mark Furniss, who finished in second place, earning TWD 390,000 (~USD 12,160). Thailand’s Pradya Laohapornsvan made a significant leap in his poker career by capturing his first-ever APT title in Event #73: Hyper Turbo. Navigating a field of 96 entries (81 unique), Laohapornsvan secured the top prize of TWD 340,648 (~USD 10,404), marking the highest cash of his career. This victory substantially inflates Laohapornsvan's bankroll and continues Thailand’s great performance in this series.
