TAIPEI, TAIWAN, October 2, 2024 – Day 1 of Event #56: High Roller - Double Stack ended with a kaiju-sized stack emerging in the 73-strong field (54 unique). Japan’s Kazuhiko Yotsushika is the holder of that stack, with 2,547,000 chips in hand, nearly triple of compatriot Takeo Kimura’s stack at 962,000 chips. The two are part of four Japanese players to hold the top five stacks in the field, with Vietnam’s Tran Thi Xuan Ha sandwiched between them with 833,000 chips.
Day 2 will see 25 survivors returning and vying for a share of the TWD 5,045,760 (~USD 158,209) prize pool. Some notable entrants still in the field is circuit regular and high-roller Natalie Teh from Malaysia, who has a healthy 612,000 chip stack going into Day 2.

Ka Takes Over Event #52: Hyper Turbo - No Limit - Dealer's Choice
Ka from Hong Kong secures his first APT title.
Hong Kong’s Tsz Yeung Ka rose above the competition to win this first APT title in Event #52: Hyper Turbo - No Limit - Dealer's Choice. Ka beat out 50 others (44 unique) on the way to claiming the trophy and a cash prize of TWD 64,800 (~USD 2,035).
Making up the top three was Manabu Akiyama from Japan and Seong Hoon Seol from South Korea. Akiyama brings home a purse of TWD 48,000 (~USD 1,508) while Seol, who previously won Event #20: 9 Game, takes home TWD 30,000 (~USD 942).

Yu Li Brings Home Another for Hong Kong in Event #53: Super Hyper Turbo
Yu Li survives a 174-strong field to win his first APT trophy.
Yu Li continues the Hong Kong contingent’s great series so far by claiming victory in Event #53: Super Hyper Turbo. Yu Li was up against 174 entrants (148 unique), overcoming the field and pocketing TWD 240,966 (~USD 7,570) along with his first APT trophy.
Yu Li went up against Ka Man Tsai from China head’s up. Local Chian Ya Hung makes up the top three of the event. While Yu Li eventually prevailed, Tsai took home a cool TWD 162,000 (~USD 5,089) while Hung took home TWD 108,000 (~USD 3,393).

Kim Secures Second Victory for South Korea in Event #54: NL Hold'em / PL Omaha
Kim shares the top two prize pool with fellow South Korean Han.
Young Joon Kim from South Korea claims a second title for the nation in Event #54: NL Hold'em / PL Omaha. Kim beat out 114 entrants (74 unique) and takes home a purse of TWD 210,000 (~USD 6,597) and his first APT title.
Kim was head’s up against compatriot Changsu Han. The duo agreed to essentially share the top two prize pool. Han, who lost the head’s up duel to Kim, brings home TWD 200,016 (~USD 6,284). Rounding off the top three was Australia’s Jarryd Godena, who adds TWD 108,000 (~USD 3,386) to his bank account.

Hasegawa Makes Comeback After ICM Chop Deal in Event #55: Turbo - Double Stack
Hasegawa makes a comeback to win his first APT title.
It’s not often the short stack makes a comeback to win the whole thing, but Tomoya Hasegawa made it happen in Event #55: Turbo - Double Stack. The Japanese player turned it around after an ICM chop deal was agreed between the top three players, with Hasegawa the shortest stack amongst the trio.
The ICM chop deal was made as follows; Hasegawa takes TWD 327,980 (~USD 10,304), Kiwanont Sukhum from Thailand, who had the most chips takes TWD 397,410 (~USD 12,486) and Wallace Yuen from Canada, who had the middle stack takes TWD 365,370 (~USD 11,479). The trio agreed to play for TWD 41,200 and the APT trophy after the ICM chop deal was agreed.
In the end, Hasegawa takes home a total of TWD 369,180 (~USD 11,599) and his first APT title. This is also Hasegawa’s best-ever live cash. The event paid out 23 players in a 165-strong field ( 151 unique) with the final table payouts as below:

Tony Khoang on the Run Good; Claims Another Title in Event #57: Limit R-O-S-E
Khoang’s good form continues after winning his second APT title this series.
The Netherlands Tony Khoang is on a roll after claiming another APT title this series in Event #57: Limit R-O-S-E. Khoang previously came out on top in Event #43: Big "O" Masters - PL Omaha Hi-Lo - 5 Card. For winning his second trophy of the series, Khoang adds a further TWD 101,075 (~USD 3,169) in cash to his bankroll.
Adriaan Ernest Waack from Germany, who was Khoang’s head’s up opponent adds another final table appearance to his name, coming in second for TWD 73,000 (~USD 2,288). Japan’s Masafumi Iijima makes up the top three and pockets TWD 47,000 (~USD 1,473) for his efforts.

Lee triumphs in high roller event.
South Korea’s Lee Hojae blasts through the late-night Event #61: Hyper Turbo - High Roller to secure his first career win. Lee, who had one cash to his name prior to the event, beat out 24 entrants (21 unique) and cashes TWD 150,720 (~USD 4,725).
A deal was made when the action went down to the final three runners. An ICM chop deal was agreed, with the trio playing for TWD 14,000 and the APT trophy. As a result, Japan’s Numata Takahiro, who was the shortest stack amongst the three cashed TWD 101,000 (~USD 3,166) in second place while compatriot Kazuya Miyata cashed TWD 113,000 (~USD 3,543) in third place.

It is a near-perfect series so far for Malaysia’s Jack Lai Moon emerges triumphant again in this series after binking Event #64: Super Hyper Turbo - Bomb Pot. In the hyper fast and exciting bomb pot format, Moon adds his second APT title to his name after taking his first trophy this series in Event #15: Turbo - PL Omaha and a second place in another. Moon beat out 71 entrants (63 unique) in this event.
Moon claims TWD 121,865 (~USD 3,821) to add to an inflating bankroll after beating Kajornnut Prirungrueng from Thailand head’s up, who brings home TWD 88,000 (~USD 2,759) in second place. Local Tien Huang comes in third place and secures TWD 57,000 (~USD 1,787).
