APT Main Event - KRW 1,300,000,000 GTD - Flight B (45 mins)

The $1,000,000 Guaranteed - APT Incheon Main Event Flight B is in the books. After ten levels of 45 minutes, a total of 207 entries were made and 96 players made it to Day 2. Our Flight B chip leader is Russia's Artem Sofronov. The Russian bagged 202,400. Sofronov's friend Veleriy Pak from Uzbekistan came 300 points short to overtake the Russian as he finished the day with 202,100. The top 3 was completed by Japan's Kazuki Obata who made it to Day 2 with 199,600.

Artem Sofronov has been playing live tournament poker since 2021. He joined the APT before but without any success. This series he cashed in Mystery Bounty Hunter, busting in 21st place for KRW 1,490,000 (~$1,125). Veleriy Pak, the man who finished just behind Sofronov, is a regular on the Asian poker scene. Pak has multiple cashes to his name on the APT, including a 4th place finish four days ago in the Single Day High Roller Event for KRW 12,650,000 (~$9,560).

American poker superstar Joseph Cheong made it to Day 2 with an under-average stack of 68,900. Cheong already cashed in two High Roller events during this series but is still in the APT record books for winning the biggest prize in APT history when he won the APT Manila Millions for $1,343,370.

Two-time APT Main Event winner Lester Edoc from the Philippines made it to Day 2 with 128,000. The Filipino surely is one of the most dangerous players in the field. Edoc final tabled earlier this year, the APT Taipei Main Event won by Punnat Punsri. Edoc once again proved his poker skills by finishing 6th in that event, winning ~$64,433.

Other notables that made it to Day 2 are Spain's Alan Arbos Fernandez (150,800), Korea's Gary Moon (118,700), Thailand's Pokchat Ratanatabtim (110,500), and APT Da Nang Summer Series High Roller 8-Max 3rd place finisher Matthew Bevin (89,300).

While all other tables are already done, there is a 4-way action going on at Table 31. After Tien Loon Ling opened to 2,400, Kei Kumagai 3-bet to 6,000 from the button. Takeya Okada and Lester Edoc from the blinds made the call and Ling also tagged along.

The flop came K♣ J♦ 3♥ and Okada, Edoc, and Ling checked. Kumagai betted 10,000 and all players quickly folded.

With a big smile on his face, Kumagai flashed pocket aces. This was officially the last hand of Flight B. All other tables are finished.

Veleriy Pak scooped a nice pot in one of the last hands of the day. The Uzbeki high roller jammed all-in against Anthony An after the American fired 25,000 on a T♦ Q♥ 7♣ flop. Pak's all-in was for over 100,000, and An only had 55,000 behind.

Anthony An was the first player to bust today and decided it was not worth it to return tomorrow for another flight. An folded, and Pak showed him A♦ Q♦ for top pair top kicker.

We rushed to Table 36 as a massive pile of chips went into the middle between Sechariah Sheng Quek and Shengchao Zhu.

Quek held 9♦ 9♣ while Zhu showed K♠ K♥. The cowboys were in the lead, but the table was excited when they saw a K♦ Q♦ 3♦ flop. Zhu flopped top set but Quek had still outs as he flopped a flush draw.

The 7♥ on the turn and 4♣ did not hit Quek who was left with only 300 chips. On the next hand the Singaporean would be eliminated.

A massive pot for Zhu just before the market is closing.

The players are working through their final hands of the day and will soon bag up their chips for Day 2.

Matthew Bevin just found himself a late double up in the last level of the day courtesy of Thailand's Uten Ungchusak.

Bevin had shoved the turn on a 6♣ 8♣ 2♠ 6♦ board with 9♥ 9♦ and was called by the 8♦ 9♠ of Ungchusak.

No eight would arrive for the Thai player as the 3♠ river secured Bevin his double up.

Christopher Park

Christopher Park has just busted in the last level of the day with his chips going to Kenny Shih.

Park had shoved the turn on the 5♣ 7♥ 3♦ 7♣ board and was snapped off by Shih.

For the second time today we saw quad sevens!

Park was drawing dead and was already up and out of his seat by the time the K♠ fell on the river.

A good last level for Shih who is 10th on the Taiwan All-Time Money List.

Alan Fernandez Arbos

Kiwanont Sukhum's journey in Flight B of the Main Event at the hands of Spain's Alan Fernandez Arbos.

The two got the chips into the middle in a button vs big blind situation with Sukhum needing a lot of help from the dealer.

Sukhum did turn some extra outs but wouldn't be able to find them on the river as the board ran 6♣ 2♠ 4♦ 3♣ 4♣.

South Korea's Hyun Shik Yun has added to his stack late in the day after eliminating Thailand's Sarawoot Ratanatabtim.

The two got the chips in on the turn with the board showing T♣ 7♠ J♦ 3♥ and it was Ratanatabtim the one that was at risk.
