Singapore's Ravn Teo bagged and tagged 930,000 chips to come through as Flight B and overall chip leader in the APT Kickoff event. There were 356 entries (275 unique) recorded for this Flight which totaled 751 (424 unique) for the Kickoff event, creating a prize pool of TWD 6,556,300 and a first prize of TWD 1,254,100.

Teo took the chip lead during level 17 when he rivered a flush against his opponent's turned straight that earned him a 500,000 chip pot, a position he would not relinquish as he continued to accumulate chips finishing on top of the pack.

In a close second is China's Kun-Han Lee who takes through 893,000 in his quest for gold. Lee is a two-time APT champion winning both the Mini Main event and a Single Day High Roller at APT Taiwan a couple of years ago. He also finished runner-up in another High Roller during the same series and is looking to add to his success as the APT returns to Taipei.

Gavin Flynn takes third bagging a respectable 647,000 chips as he tries to make a run at another APT title. The Irish player is back in Asia and has put himself in a good position to make a run at the final table.

The experienced Nishant Sharma brings through 438,000 and a lot of support as the Indian players have certainly shown in force here in Taipei. After a number of bullets across both flights, Sharma finally secured his place in Day 2 and will be hunting down that first-place prize money.

Other notables to make it through to Day 2 were Zarvan Tumboli (277,000), Kwok Tam (271,000), Sang Hwang (235,000), and Yukina Oza (81,000).

Bubble Time

PostedJust nowby Life of Poker - Kwun

Abraham Abdulla Ceesvin.jpg With 52 players remaining, only two more players needed to get unlucky and eliminated in order for the 50 remainder players to make the money.

Meanwhile on table 21 we saw Abraham Abdulla Ceesvin defending his big blind against Issac Phua who opened on the high-jack. Flop came A♥ 3♥ 5♦, Phua bet the minium of 10,000 saying "it's a good flop for me", Ceesvin made the call regardless. Turn brought an interesting card, the 2♠ where both players checked and a 4♥ on the river made it even more interesting. With a straight on the board, Ceesvin fired an over-bet of 90,000 into a 65,000 pot. It was too much for Phua to pay as he folded his hand A♣ 4♦ faced up. Phua flop top pair then turned a straight only to end up playing the board. Ceesvin also showed his hand K♥ Q♥ telling Phua it was the correct lay down by him. Both players are still sitting healthy while the bubble is closing in.

The second knock out happened on the very next hand, it was Bothra Deepak putting himself at risk with 2♦ 2♥ on the button against Chung Liang Lin's 8♣ 8♠. Pocket eights prevailed this time and Lin is now sitting on 240,000.

Kings for Cheng

PostedJust nowby Life of Poker - Kwun

On a flop of T♣ 4♣ 8♣, we saw Po Chia facing an all-in by Yen Ting Cheng for abour 100,000. After some good consideration, Chia put in the chips.

Chia: A♥ T♦

Cheng: K♣ K♠

Chia was in big trouble with his top pair top kicker having only 4 outs, but a K♥ on the turn sealed the deal and Cheng is now stacking his new found chips worth 250,000 and Chia is down to 34,000.
