Flight E of the TWD 10,000 APT National Cup has come to a close, with 73 players making the money and 28 players from the original 491 entries (398 unique) making it through to Day 2 tomorrow, March 2. They will join the 106 players who survived the previous four flights.

The player who bagged up the chip lead was Edilberto Gopez of the Philippines, who accumulated a whopping 2,075,000 chips. Gopez has nine APT final tables to his name and will look to make that ten by the end of the day tomorrow.

Flight E generated a prize pool of TWD 4,238,803 (~$134,130) and paid out TWD 905,000 (~$28,660) of that, which was awarded to places 29 through 73. This leaves TWD 3,333,803 (~$105,585) in prize money that will be carried over to the final day.

Going through second in chips was Pichet Permsubhirunya of Thailand, who managed to pass the one-million chips mark with 1,041,000 in chips.

Hung Folds to Gopez's Pressure

PostedJust nowby Life of Poker - Tim

Two of the biggest stacks left in the tournament just got involved in a blind-on-blind confrontation. We caught the hand on a flop of A♠ 3♠ A♦ with Edilberto Gopez having bet 60,000, Shao Hung Yu, who started the hand in the big blind made the call.

The turn was the 5♥ which saw Gomez slow down and check; now Yu took the initiative in hand and bet 200,000. Gopez then check-raised all-in for the rest of Yu's remaining 500,000. You eventually folded, as Gopez became a clear chip leader in the event.

Huang Wins the Flip

PostedJust nowby Life of Poker - Tim

After Lin Hung Yeh opened for a min-raise from under the gun, he was 3-bet shoved on by Natalie Siew Po Teh in middle position for 150,000. When it folded to Chun Min Huang, he announced all-in himself for the covering stack of 500,000 from the big blind. Yeh had around 350,000 to start the hand and eventually folded ace-king face up.

Teh J♥ J♣

Huang A♦ K♠

Teh must have liked her chances of winning this race after seeing ace-king had already been folded, but the 5♣ A♥ 4♣ flop, 7♠ turn and 9♣ was a lot more favorable for Huang, who eliminated Teh and became one of the chip leaders of the tournament.

Li Almost Becomes Chipleader

Jun Li was putting his big stack to work as players edged closer to the end of the day. In this hand Li shoved all-in from the button for around 500,000. Robert Cheung called from the small blind for around 100,000, and Sin Lan Chen from the big blind for her last 90,000.

Li A♣ 4♣

Cheung 7♠ 7♣

Chen 9♥ 9♣

Li would rocket into the room chip leader if he were to find a way to score the double knockout. But it wasn't meant to be as the board ran out 8♥ 8♦ K♣ 4♦ 3♣. Chen triples up to almost 300,000, while Cheung was left with just over one big blind.

Huang Rivers an Ace to Score the Double KO

PostedJust nowby Life of Poker - Tim

Pape Pier pushed all in from the cutoff for his last 68,000. Chun Min Huang peeled back his cards before moving all in himself from the button for around 100,000, Kaien Wun was in the big blind with just 1,000 chips behind, he flicked in the call to make this a three-way encounter.

Wun J♦ 6♣

Pier K♥ 9♠

Huang A♥ T♣

The flop was good for Pier when it came K♠ 7♥ 4♥. The turn 7♠ didn't change anything but the Barry Greenstein A♣ on the river ended his and Wun's run in this event as they both headed for the cashier.

Yuan Chips Up With AAs

PostedJust nowby Life of Poker- Matty

Hu Husan Hao open-shoved with 34,000 from UTG and a quick 3-Bet by Ka Chun Yuan to 58,000.

When the action folded to big blind player Huang Chia Lin decided to re-shoved for 190,000 and got snap call by Yuan

Yuan A♠ A♣

Lin Q♣ Q♠

Hao 3♠ 4♦

With the flop came A♥ 9♣ 2♥ pretty much locked up for Yuan cause the 9♠ come on the turn and the inconsequential 9♥ came on the river which meant both Lin and Hao will be eliminated.
