HANOI, VIETNAM, May 28, 2023 – The action is beginning to heat up at the APT Summer Series Hanoi, Vietnam 2023 with the final day of the VND 10,000,000 Mystery Bounty Hunter - Sponsored by Natural8 playing down to a thrilling conclusion, and the VND 7,000,000 Sunday Super Stack attracting a 320-strong record-breaking field.
It was Day 2 of the Mystery Bounty Hunter that garnered the most attention, with Singapore's #4 ranked tournament player Alex Lee solving the mystery.
Playing out at the tournament tables of the Grand Loyal Poker Club – located on the second and third floors of the luxurious Grand Vista Hanoi Hotel – just 46 of the 320-strong Mystery Bounty Hunter field returned for the second and final day.
All surviving players were guaranteed a payout of at least VND 10,510,000 (~USD $450) from the VND 1,833,600,000 (~USD $78,130) prize pool – with a further VND 960,000,000 (~USD $40,890) awarded in bounties.
Lee claimed the win, the coveted pewter lion silhouette trophy, and the VND 359,490,000 (~USD $15,310) top prize after battling back from a three-to-two chip deficit in an epic four-level long back-and-forth heads-up battle against Sweden's Daniel Brugman, who was on the hunt for a second Series title after taking down Event #2 Single Day High Roller.

The Singaporean claimed his second APT title and a further VND 65,000,000 (~USD $2,770) in bounties after taking six scalps.

It was Kaito Hirai rounding out the winner's podium. The Japanese player was unable to recreate the magic that saw him win the APT Phu Quoc Mystery Bounty Hunter back in March and Hirai had to settle for the VND 171,130,000 (~USD $7,290) on offer for third.
While Lee took the title, it was fifth-place finisher Van An Chu the man to earn the most in bounty payouts, taking six scalps including the largest and fourth largest bounties for a VND 305,000,000 (~USD $12,990) windfall, plus the 109,170,000 (~USD $4,650) on offer for fifth.

Chile's Tomas Molina Triumphs Over Record-breaking 318-strong Sunday Super Stack Field
Chile's Tomas Molina claimed his maiden APT title in the record-breaking Event #9 Sunday Super Stack
While it was the Mystery Bounty that captured the rail's attention, it was the VND 17,000,000 Event #9 Sunday Super Stack - VND 1,000,000,000 GTD that proved to be the most popular draw of the day.
The tournament attracted 318 entries (242 unique) – setting a new APT record for field size for this event.
With a juicy VND 1,943,298,000 (~USD $82,760) prize pool on the line – the second largest of the Series so far – and only the top 47 places paid out, competition for a place in the money was fiercely contested.
Reigning APT Incheon Main Event champion Farhad Aghayev was the man to burst the bubble and guarantee the rest of the field a VND 11,080,000 (~USD $470) payday, his ace-queen unable to overcome the pocket tens of Taiwan's Jui-Ting Chen.
It took a grueling thirty-three 25-minute levels to find a champion, with Chile's Tomas Molina the man to triumph over the largest-ever Sunday Super Stack field.
Molina defeated France's Julien Rouxel heads-up to claim a top prize of VND 313,238,000 (~USD $13,390) after the duo opted for an ICM chop, playing it out for 10% of the remaining prize money and the trophy and title.
Rouxel received a payout of VND 306,000,000 (~USD $13,090) for his runner-up finish.
While Molina held the chip lead from two tables out, it was not all plain sailing for the South American, with Rouxel seizing the lead when play became three-handed.
However, following the departure of Singapore's Corine Huiqi Shi in third place for VND 180,340,000 (~USD $7,715), the stacks were fairly even with Rouxel holding a slight lead, which is when the pair opted to come to an accord.
